Indie-rock band Arcade Fire rocked back-to-back shows at Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville last night for packed audiences. The free show was open to the public and was in support of the Barack Obama campaign. The group interspersed their songs with politically-charged covers such as “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. The band also emphasized the importance of voter participation in influencing tomorrow’s presidential primary. “If people can vote and change the course of this election, let’s do it,” said lead vocalist Win Butler.
