Ohio University students pondering one of life’s ultimate questions can head to Baker University Center tonight for a debate titled, “Does God Exist?”
The debate will feature Dr. Michael Shermer, the founding publisher of Skeptic Magazine, squaring off against Dr. Doug Geivett, a professor at Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. The two speakers will be addressing the issue of God’s existence or nonexistence, said Chad Barnhardt, assistant director at Baker Center.
The event concludes Baker Center’s Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll debate series, which has featured debates on marijuana, music piracy, and pornography.
As the series comes to a close, Barnhardt said he thinks it has been a positive experience, noting that Baker Center has received plenty of positive feedback from students.
Barnhardt is currently working on new programs to take place in Baker Center during Spring Quarter, though none of the ideas are final enough to comment on, he said.
It will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
