Turkish political cartoonist Salih Memecan will present his speech titled “Danish Cartoon Controversy: Drawing the Line Between Political Criticism and Free Speech” at 7 tonight in Baker Center Theatre.

Memecan writes a daily political cartoon strip, Bizimcity, for the front page of Sabah, a Turkish newspaper. His daily comics cartoon runs on the back of the same publication. His editorial cartoons have appeared in the United States in The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Baltimore Sun and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The program will also feature a display of Memecan’s cartoons. This event is free and open to the public.
