Parking Services will no longer offer quarterly or renewable permits and instead will direct students to a new online request system for the 2007-08 school year.
All permits will be sold on an annual basis, except for residential, non-guaranteed surface lot permits, which will continue to be sold quarterly. Permit costs will not change, and students who will not attend classes for the whole year can return their permit for a prorated refund.
The reasons to move to an annual permit are the integration of a new online request system for permits and the elimination of long lines each quarter, said Teresa Trussell, parking operations supervisor, adding that with the new system that students are paying the same amount as before.
Residential permits for both garages and surface lots go on sale May 15, the first day the online system will be available. Resident Assistants, who are allowed to purchase permits May 14, will have to go to Parking Services. Commuter students will also have to show up to buy their permits.
