Parents Weekend

ATHENS — Students aching to have a little family time will get theirchance as parents arrive today for Parents Weekend. The weekend is fullof events, ranging from sports games to local art displays. Studentsand parents can bond while running the Ohio Fall Classic 5K, listeningto a concert or comedy show together or just having a nice meal at oneof Athens’ many local restaurants. Other events include two-personmassages at the Ping Center and a billiards tournament in the billiardslounge. Freshman Lauren Law’s parents are visiting this weekend. Shesaid that she and her parents plan to go to the football game, checkout the volleyball game and then go out for dinner. She said that sheand her parents would probably go shopping and make a trip to Wal-Mart,too. “My parents are coming from five and a half hours away, so I’mpretty excited,” Law said. Whether or not students’ parents are coming,this weekend’s schedule has many great opportunities to get out of thedorms, try something new and have a great time.
