With the end of the fall season approaching, Ohio will be looking to make some improvements.

“We’re scoring better than we did at the end of last spring,” coach Bob Cooley said. “Our all-around game is definitely better.  One thing I’ve noticed is how much better our course management has gotten.”

All of the golfers who participated in last season’s finale at the Mid-American Conference championships were on the team this fall, along with freshman John Mlynarski.

“We got our main five guys back and we’ve just been playing better,” Stewart Jamieson said. “We’ve just been going about our business better than we did last spring.”

This course is the perfect place for the Bobcats to end their season on the right foot, according to many of the team’s players.

It is bigger and more wide open than what Ohio faced in Florida at the Mission Inn Classic.  The Bobcats have had trouble with their short game throughout the season and are much better when it comes to driving and other long-range shots.

Junior Tim Gusweiler, whose home is very close to the course in Cincinnati, is pretty familiar with it.

“It’s a new course and it’s pretty wide open,” Gusweiler said. “I like it and it fits the style of our guys like Stew (Jamieson) and John (Mlynarski).”

With this being their last event of the fall season, the Bobcats are hoping to get some momentum going into the off-season.

“We’re going to spend a lot of time with the weights in the off-season,” Cooley said. “There’s going to be a lot of indoor putting and we’re going to tape our guys’ swings to better analyze them.”
