[Bank Robbery]

A law enforcement officer takes statements from employees of the Ohio University Employee's Credit Union, 90 S. Shafer St., yesterday after the bank was robbed. The suspect said he would detonate a bomb inside the bank if he was not given money.


Local man sentenced for assault

An Athens man convicted of felonious assault after beating his live-in girlfriend was sentenced last week to serve a four-year term in the Correctional Reception, according to a news release from the Athens County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
