Terms of Service

Last updated: June 14, 2006 It basically boils down to a few things:

• Anything you submit becomes property of The Post
• At The Post's discretion, we can use (or refuse to use) any material submitted by anyone however we see fit
• We will do our best to remove libelious material from the website; just ask us
• We won't abuse any personal information you give us (If you're getting spammed / called, it's not because we gave out your information)

In addition, while The Post will do its best to allow freedom of expression, there are some things which will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to profanity, spamming, libel, or material that the general public considers obscene. Judging whether material fits any of the above is at the sole discretion of The Post, which reserves the exclusive right to remove information not conforming to these guidelines. We are taking a chance by giving you a soapbox with a broad audience; please don't make us take it away.

Anyone failing to adhere to these guidelines may have his or her account disabled. If you don't agree with the decision, you are welcome to petition to the current web editor for account reinstatement (which he or she may accept or deny).

For our protection, we limit the number of responses that the user can submit (to prevent spamming). As of this writing, the limit is set to a maximum of one post per minute and 25 posts per day. If you think this limitation is inadequate, please notify the web editor.

User-Submitted Comments

We allow users with accounts to submit comments for any article. We encourage thoughtful, considerate posts which open a dialogue on an issue. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that you are legally liable for what you post here. For example, anyone posting libelious or threatening material may have their account information forwarded to the proper authorities. The Post will comply with legal requests for information relevant to illegal posts.

Users are also able to rank posts. Your post may be ranked up or down. Posts ranked down beyond a threshold may, at our discretion, be hidden from viewers. We do this so that users can hide potentially offensive or illegal posts without waiting for us to get to them. We encourage you to engage in this process of ranking responses: positively-ranked responses will, in the future, be displayed more prominently than negative ones.If you don't agree with this, please don't post anything on our site.
